Must Review, but What?

I am supposed to write a review of something, but I haven't decided what to review. A pattern? A book? A yarn? A store? A brand of needles? A podcast?

I don't know yet, I will give it some thought and get back to you.

Punky swan maiden

This very cute pattern, by Holly Terrell, Corvidae, on Ravelry, called:Swan Maiden Mitts, is made with lace weight yarn or if you want you can try sock weight. I had acquired some very colorful lace weight from Cdaniele, on ravelry, and decided to try. It almost has a stripey effect. I really like them.

I also finished another roll/wallet for KP options needles, well actually two, and sent one to my dad's girlfriend as a gift.

This is the one that went to my dad's girlfriend, I made another with a plain navy ribbon instead of gold. It is I haven't put it in my artfire store yet, but maybe soon.

Oh yeah I opened an artfire store, my name there is Psstknits, or http://PsstKnits.artfire.com

Where did all the flowers go?

I think I must have hit the winter doldrums, because I am not motivated to do anything really.

I got frustrated with the shawl I was making, I had to rip out a whole repeat, and have been kicking myself about not putting a lifeline in.

I want to make some gifts for children's birthdays coming up, but they are all off track so I don't know how I will keep it secret.

I did however with the help of JenDeJour figure out how to make a cute little needle roll for options needles. I am working on a design for circular needles next.

Here is the official debut of the Psst Options Roll:

It is about 6 inches by 16 inches open, and 6 inches tall by 5 inches wide folded. I intend to make the ribbon a little longer on future versions, but overall I am happy with this new version of my needle rolls.

I have bee asked to open an etsy, but I really don't want to, I am trying to figure out a different way to make them available, there is always email and paypal. :)

Knitting interupted

I don't think I knit anything all weekend. Why? Because we got a Wii.

Here is the progress on my shawl though...

Hearts! I see hearts!

Everywhere I turn I see hearts! I know it's because of Valentine's day. I always want to make something for my Valentine, but he doesn't really appreciate knitted items. I thought about making him some socks, but I don't want to spend time making socks and attach the Valentine's day expectations on those socks, and have him hate them or never wear them, so I'm going to skip making him anything. I actually really want to knit these mitts by Smariek. They would be a valentine's day gift to myself. I might get to it later this month though. They are doing a KAL in the Fingerless Glove Fanatics group for this pattern, but I told myself I was going to knit a stole this month. The stole wasn't working out so I switched to a shawl, now the shawl is giving me problems. I think I am lace knitting disabled.

I really do want to get it down someday. I even started designing and making shawl pins. See:

they are sort of rustic, because I don't quite have the right tools yet. I do like them anyway.

Someone asked me if I was going to sell them. I am not adverse to the idea, I just don't want to do etsy, or ebay. I do have a paypal account and if anyone really wants one just let me know and we can work something out.

Oh and PS

I forgot I made myself a hat. I have never been able to make a hat that fits my humongous head or that looks good on me. But I think I finally did it.

I stole what?

Ok, nothing, but I am knitting a stole. I am knitting Juno Regina, so far, I am not feeling very inspired. Maybe because I had to "tink" 4 or 5 rows last night. (For you non-knitters "tink" is knit spelled backwards, so I was knitting backwards, because the alpaca lace yarn I was using makes it impossible to just frog, plus it's lace, and I would lose a yarn over or something). I haven't instituted a life line yet, but I am using my nickel options that my dad gave me for my birthday, so I should be able to put one in when I feel it's worth it.

Here is what I had yesterday morning, which is about what I have this morning, all yesterday's work was lost.
