How do you detox?

I usually knit. Yes, even if it's detoxing from knitting, I will just knit something else. so it is no wonder I have about 5 or 6 or more projects going at once.

I have plans to make a shawl for my mom, probably for her birthday. And after seeing the last lace item (a lace worsted weight scarf) tied in a knot at christmas, I decided to include a shawl pin with the shawl.

I have been looking for a decently priced shawl pin, and haven't found one that I want to pay the asking price, for my mother (she doesn't appreciate some of these things the way I do). I did find one in someone's etsy store. I decided I was just as capable, and could make the same pin... here it is

It's probably not quite as cute as the original... do you want to see the original? Not quite the same but close.

I also tried to make one for me, but I broke it while attempting to attach the beads.
my scarf pin, it broke

I think I will have to go back and get another pin and continue on where I left off.

However I did salvage some of my efforts into stitch markers.

I really like them. I think I will either keep them, or maybe if I get involved in a st. patrick's day stash swap.... they may go towards that.

I like the shawl pin. But then I like butterflies and dragonflies. A neat idea to make them into stitch markers! They came out nice too. I may have to watch for the St Patrick's Swap!

Very cute! I'm always on the prowl for a good shawl pin too. I've found a few in the hair accessories department at Target! P.S., I completely forgot about that blog you have listed for me! I have a newer one here (though it's not all knitting content):

Very nice! I don't blame you for not wanting to buy one when you can make it yourself! I like how you turned the lemon into lemonaide by making stitch markers! Great idea!

The shawl pin is so pretty! You are so talented to be able to make your own.

I detox by crocheting, and reading
I recently attempted knitting (when I couldn't find my crochet hooks during the power outage during an ice storm) and made it to the garter stitch...I am in between right now and trying to untangle yarn that little kiddos helped me tangle
